Ghaida K. Zaid, MD

I’m a Neuroimmunologist specialist at University of Tennessee Medical Center. I did my medical school at University of Jordan where my passion to Neurology grow and learning about the immune system made me believe that it’s the cause and the target for most chronic disorders. I pursed Neurology residency at University of Tennessee Health Science Center where I developed a special interest in helping patients with neuroimmunological disorders who have limited access to comprehensive care ,which can compromise their quality of life and their disease outcome. I was awarded the National MS Society fellowship award to pursue specific training in Multiple Sclerosis and other Neuroimmunological disorders at University of Alabama at Birmingham. I see a wide range of age groups including teenagers, adults, and Geriatrics. My goal is to precisely diagnose the patients by performing a detailed history and physical exam, ordering the appropriate imaging and laboratory tests, and working with them as a team to help select the right treatment at the right time. I make sure to address the patient’s physical, emotional, rehabilitation, and cognitive needs and provide them with multidisciplinary care to help promote the best quality of life while living with MS. I have a special and strong focus on patients’ wellness and their brain health, with more data supporting the importance of wellbeing physically, emotionally and socially, we collaborate with local and national expert to provide our patients with the education and the support they need. We also are collaborating with pharmaceutical companies to provide our patients with the cutting edge innovative clinical trials and advances in research. Patient education is our responsibility, we make sure we provide the patient with all the necessary tools to understand their conditions and their treatment and be part of the final clinical decision.
