Born and raised in Jackson MS, Dr. Pierce has made Knoxville Tennessee his home for over 20 years. He graduated from the University of Mississippi Medical School in 1984, then completed an Internal Medicine Residency at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis Tennessee. In 1998, he moved to Knoxville and worked in the Emergency Department at Parkwest Hospital till joining the Hospitalist group Statcare in 2001. He later went into private practice in 2003. In 2017, he became full-time faculty with the Internal Medicine Residency at UTMCK. He is currently an Academic Hospitalist and General Internist in the resident Clinic.
