I grew up in a rural Tennessee town on a small farm. My father was an electrician/inventor. Both parents were wonderful musicians and made sure I received a good education. I played all sports and performed in music during my young life. My interest in reproductive sciences led me to medical school, residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology and finally to a fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology. I am blessed to serve as Department Chair with the task of training the next generation of providers, leading research efforts and advancing the health of the women of East Tennessee and surrounding areas. I am thankful I was able to hold on to the music which I share with my family and friends.
