“Dr Burton is a lovely human and I believe he wants to help but he is often distracted and doesn't finalize what we've discussed , just disappears down the hall and I end up calling numerous times or emailing for answers. I also believe his hands are often tied in treatments that UT has decided aren't good choices but are not interested in individualized results.”

“Dr. Burton is a stellar physician - the BEST. He is very smart, but willing to be open-minded, consider patient input (a novel relationship for most doctor/patients), research for innovative solutions, and not be boxed in by assumptions and/or protocols. His ability to adapt, see the big picture, and think out outside the box makes him one of the smartest physicians (and persons) that I have encountered. As smart as he is, he doesn't talk to me in terms that I cannot understand. He explains things simply in a way and with terms that I understand. And, he actually cares about me as a person/patient! I have always felt that he is genuinely invested in my health and well-being. Dr. Burton has saved me on so many health issues. I was misdiagnosed with something several years ago, and he immediately knew it and resolved the issue correctly. I am so grateful to have found him and be under his care. I could not ask or want for another doctor - he really has been one of the biggest blessings in my life.”

One of my greatest complaints in general with healthcare is the transactional nature, subpar communication, and rushed approach many providers take. Dr. Burton ALWAYS takes the time to ask excellent questions and to hear what is going on, has always clearly referenced past medical notes, and works to provide the best care and support to me as a patient. His work is very patient-focused and I cannot underscore what a great asset he is to UTMC as a health care professional. I am beyond thankful to have the opportunity to work with him”

“Had to speak to the doctor about my concerns over past mistakes and errors, which included not calling in prescriptions to the pharmacy in a timely manner, an error in coding which led to my insurance company denying my claim for blood/lab work and the lab charging ME the full amount, coming to an appointment (which I had scheduled weeks before) to be told that I was not scheduled and in the system, plus a few other concerns. The doctor listened and seemed empathetic to my concerns and vowed to address them.”
