Dr Picken's clinical focuses are in the surgical, medical management of kidney stone disease, BPH He performs minimally invasive surgery (laparoscopic, robotic), robotic pyeloplasties for UPJ obstruction as well as robotic uretal reimplants, BOARI Flaps for ureteral stricture disease Dr Pickens performs the largest number of PNCLs in the region, is a national leader in the new procedure mini PCNL for kidney stones He is very involved with the University of Tennessee Transplant Program, performs laparoscopic nephrectomies for those withing to donate their kidney Dr Pickens now does Aquablation which is a novel technique for BPH which eliminates side effect from older options He is considered one of the top 20 surgeons for this surgery
