I was born and raised in East Tennessee. I attended The University of Tennessee, Knoxville for both my undergraduate and graduate degrees. I spent 3 1/2 years as a floor RN at St Mary's Medical Center on cardiopulmonary unit and med/surg unit. After obtaining my masters degree and nurse practitioner certification, I worked at Cherokee Health Systems providing rural health care. Following this, I spent 13 years working in primary care and family practice. I found my true passion helping others when I started working for University Surgeons Associates. I have been married for 23 years. My husband and I love to travel and try new foods! I also have 2 teenage sons and love to spend time with my family.
