Overview
Rubber Band Ligation Hemorrhoid Therapy is an office procedure where the surgeon attaches tiny O-rings to the base of internal hemorrhoids to cut off circulation. In a few days, the hemorrhoid and O-ring painlessly fall away and are expelled with stool. Usually, one or two hemorrhoids are treated at a time.
Most patients have minimal symptoms after the procedure and return to work the same day. Some patients require multiple treatments to achieve the desired result.
