3-D Conformal Radiation
3-D Conformal Radiation Therapy is an individualized treatment plan that begins with a 3-D digital data set of the patient’s tumors and adjacent anatomy. This is used to generate 3-D computer images, and develop a treatment plan that delivers highly conformed radiation that spares adjacent tissue. Higher doses of radiation can be delivered to the targeted area while reducing the amount of radiation to surrounding tissue, decreasing side effects.
